About me
My name is Dimitra Paschalidi, though most people know me as Mema.
I’m originally from Skiathos, where I’ve been living for the past eight years with my husband Giannis and our two sons, George and Giannis.
I hold a degree in International Relations and have studied Arabic at universities in Rhodes, Syria, and Morocco, as well as Turkish in Izmir.
My professional background includes working as an Arabic translator, Arabic teacher for Greek students, and education officer in large refugee camps.
I also hold a Master’s degree in Language Education, with a specialization in designing Greek for Specific Purposes materials for expats living in Greece. Since 2020, I have been working exclusively with adult learners of Greek—a role I truly love, as it allows me to share my language and culture while enjoying the calm rhythm of island life.
In my lessons, I believe that learning Greek should feel like a pleasant hour of your holiday, not a stressful class. I love what I do, and I want you to enjoy every minute of it too—learning, laughing, and discovering Greece through its language.
